Challenge yourself!

This is a card that I made using Splitcoaststampers color challenge. Every day they have something new to try. On Monday, it's try a new technique. On Tuesday it's color challenge. Wednesday is a sketch challenge. You get the idea? You should try some of the ideas. It is a great way to break away from your everyday style and try something new. The colors used are Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink. The embossing was done with my Cuttlebug.

Stamp Club Meeting Review

Our stamp club meeting on Sunday was a lot of fun. We learned how to make faux polished stone and faux mosaic with labels. Then, we combined the two techniques to make a Valentines card. After that it was play time. We had a great time making projects and enjoying each others company. I hope, if you missed this months meeting, you will be able to come next month. The meetings will always be on the 3rd Sunday of the month at noon till 3 or 4.

A Site worth seeing

I just found a new site that I think ROCKS! I found it by surfing around on someones blog. The site is http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/ and it tells you all of the great color combinations of Stampin' Up!'s colors. You just choose a color you want to work with and click on search and it does the rest. Next thing you know, you are mixing colors like a pro. Go check it out. I guarantee your scrapbook pages and cards will thank you for it!

Sell-A-Bration

Oh my, I can hardly believe it is the 17th of January and we have not discussed Sell-A-Bration yet. My bad. If you don't know about Sell-A-Bration, here's the scoop! All during January and February, Stampin' Up! rewards it's loyal patrons buy giving away FREE stamp sets. Every time you spend $50.00, you get to choose from six, limited edition stamp sets. Actually, this year there are five sets and one beautiful Simply Scrappin' Kit. Click on the link to the right to see the sets. So, if you spend $50.00, you get one set of your choice, if you spend $100.00, you get two sets, and if you spend $150.00, you get three sets, a level one hostess set and $15.00 to spend on anything you want! WOW!
Before I started working for Stampin' Up!, I used to save up just for this time of year so I could get FREE sets.
P.S. A couple of the cards for my class on the 18th are made with Sell-A-Bration stamp sets.

What's the Stamp Club Meeting?

Just in case you are not aware of what the new Stamp Club Meeting is, here is a full explanation for you.
We will meet on the third Sunday of the month at 12:00. I will be teaching new techniques and giving you reference cards for each technique. We ill also be making a project using the new techniques. After the project is done, it's FREE time. Bring with you any projects you are working on and I will open my Stamp Room to you. You will have use of my stamps and inks and tools. You just need to bring any "perishables" like paper, adhesive, etc. I will have items on hand, for sale, if you need to purchase something.
This meeting is open to anyone who would like to come. You just need to let me know by the Friday before the meeting.
You do NOT have to come every month. There is no obligation. You come when you want and don't when you can't.
The cost of all of this is basically free with a $15.00 order from any of Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs.
If you need more explanation, please feel free to call me and I will try to make it clear to you.

Check the Calendar

I have added a list of events, on the right side of the page, to help you keep track of what is coming up. You will notice that there is a R.S.V.P. by date for the scrapbooking class. If you would like to participate in this class, you will NEED to let me know by the 17th so that I can order the Simply Scrappin' Kits for you. I will be placing a class order on the morning of the 18th.

For the Stamp Club Meeting, I would like a head count by the 19th so I can make sure I have enough projects ready for everyone.

To R.S.V.P., you can either call me at (941) 423-4799 or email me using the link provided.

A New Look for a New Year

I hope everyone can find this page OK. I have cancelled my website through Stampin' Up! due to the problems that I have getting quality pictures on my site for you to see. So, I thought I would try a blog. All the cool kids are doin' it so, why not me!? This way I can upload my pictures with high quality and post any updates without all the fuss. Please, feel free to let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

I am trying something new this year with the scrapbook workshop. I want to use the Simply Scrappin' Kits from the catalog. Instead of 5 pages we will do 6 pages. They will be 3 double page spreads. Everyone has lots of Christmas Pictures to scrap. So here are the layouts I have come up with.
