Cupcake and a Latte break

While waiting for "the room" to be finished, I started working on some more knitted crafts. Here is my latest cupcake and a latte. Aren't they just the cutest!? I made them with some sweaters I got at the local Goodwill over the weekend. I love the colors!

I also have some other fun finds that I found at yard sales. I love this little silver 3 tier dish at only $4.00. It fits my Dew Drops perfectly. The covered cake dish was only $3.00. Wow! It's a great place to display my cupcakes. How about these fabulous little wooden shoes? I couldn't resist at $1.00.

Well, that's all for now. The room is so close to being done. The drywall goes up today and the stucco goes on tomorrow. Then, all that's left is the floor and paint. Still not sure of the color I am going to go with. I will take pictures later today and show them to you all.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! XO, Mimi

Name that Scraproom!!

I am looking for a name for my new Craft Building. I am calling on all of you out there in blog land. I know there are some very creative people out there and I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

Here are a few things to think about: my name is Mimi. My husband is Rick and my daughters are Katie and Maggie. I am sarcastic and fun loving. The room will be used for general crafting, scrapbooking, stamping, sewing, etc. I love the color pink but I will probable paint the walls a mossy green, (it comforts me). I am planning a big Open House on the 17th of May. Armed with this information, please, put on your thinking caps and help me find a name. Feel free to email me with any questions to help with your decision.

The person who comes up with the name that I choose will receive a worthy prize. I have not gathered up the contents yet but I promise to make it worth your while.

I will accept suggestions up till May 3rd, National Scrapbook Day! Please HELP!!!

Moving right along.

Here are a couple of the latest pics of the crop/stamp/sewing room. The AC guy was here yesterday, putting in the vents and the one and a half ton unit. Yeah, I think we'll be keepin' cool. No heat flashes can hold up to that kind of coolin' power!! The photo of the vents is welded from 2 pics, that's why it looks a little funny.

That pile of boxes are the IKEA goodies.

No, that's not the AC guy. That's the most awesome husband in the world who is making this happen for me!

I think the electrician is coming later today.

Have a Fabulous Friday! XO, Mimi

Wow! What a place!

My trip to IKEA was very fruitful. I cannot believe that place. They have everything you could use to furnish your home, right down to the kitchen sink! Yeah, no kiddin'. If you have never been to one, you have got to go.

Here is what I got. I got 4 of the bookcase cabinets, 1 of the storage counters with 12 drawers and 2 of the counters with 3 drawers each and 2 shelves. Here are some pictures.

Have a great Wednesday! XO, Mimi

Wish me luck!

I am off to IKEA to pick up the cabinets for my new room. I am so excited! I have to go to Orlando to get them, since that is the nearest IKEA. That's 2 1/2 hours from where I live. Argh. But soon there will be one in Tampa.

Have a Fabulous Tuesday!!! XO, Mimi

Happy Monday!

I got this cute little guy at Craft Depot last week and couldn't wait to use him on a card. I think I will send it to my friend Maria. She was a wonderful hostess yesterday. Our Stampin' Up! group gets together each month at one of our homes and this time it was her turn. Thanks Maria!

Hey, what's that yellow puddle by the cactus? LOL!

Have a fabulous day! XO, Mimi

I LOVE that face!

That is the face of a happy, crafty little girl. She got this great kit at Joanns today. She says that crafts like this make her calm. LOL. If that is the case, I'm buying stock in the company!

XO, Mimi

More cupcakes, please!

Just wanted to share my new additions. I have numbered them so, these are #2, #3, and #4. Don't you just want to gobble them up?

Have a cuppy-cake day! XO, Mimi

My No-Bake Cupcake!

I told you, the other day, that I would show you what I did with the old sweaters. Well, here it is. It's a pin cushion cupcake. The first one I made, I gave to my friend Kirsten, for her birthday. She seemed very happy with it. This is #2. The book that I used for directions is called Warm Fuzzies and is by Betz White. It is a FABULOUS book!

Thanks for stopping by. XO, Mimi

Oh, PS, my new craft room has shingles!!!! One step closer to completion.

What a GREAT day!

Today I decided to go "junkin'" at the Salvation Army. Wednesdays are 1/2 price on clothes. Sometimes they have specials on other items too. I went straight for the sweaters! I know what you're thinking, I live in Florida. Yeah, I know, but I have a new book that is full of lots of yummy things to make from old sweaters. As soon as I make something, I will post a picture.

I also like to get flat sheets, if they are pretty and soft and in good condition. It's a really cheap way to buy material. I got a couple cute ones. They was even one with little surf boards on it. Can't wait to cut into them!!

And last, but not least, FedEx just delivered my new Donna Downey books set. I have the first three in the series and when the last two came out with a special box to keep them in, well, I had to have 'em. You have got to go check them out!

Hurry Up .......and Wait!

Ok, so it has been a week and I have no new pictures of the building to show. This week was full of inspections and getting everyone lined up for the next phase. We are getting prices from electricians and painters and then we should be back in business. I will keep you up to date when things start moving again.

This week has been Spring Break for the girls. They are nice and brown from the beach. Daddy took them to the beach while he was on patrol. They had a great time.

Yesterday, Maggie and I went to the movies with Milissa and her girls. We saw Nim's Island. It was a great adventure film. I loved it, the kids loved it, Milissa loved it. So, it's a must see.

While the girls were gone to the beach, I got a little scrappin' and card making done.
The first is a mini kit from Milissa at Serendipity Kits. I love the papers and the pink loopy letters. The flowers are felt and self adhesive. The ribbons are from my stash. I just added a bunch of this and that. I love how it turned out. Maggie likes it too.

The card is made with some clearance pub-ons I picked up at Michaels a while ago. The paper is from MAMBI and came in a pad. Don't you love the sugar coated brads? I got a pack in every color and I am determined not to hoard them! LOL! Good luck with that!

I think that's all I have to show you right now. I promise to have more for you soon!
