Thanks Mom!

I made this bird for my Mom to thank her for all of her help with getting my studio ready. She really has contributed so much to my dream. She is always finding goodies for me to put on my shelves and new storage finds.

I was inspired by this bird that I saw on a blog and I wish, so bad, that I had saved the information on who made it because it is a spectacular piece of art, IMHO. If you know who's artwork it is, please LMK.

Take a look at the fabulous four tier goodie holder she got me at the local Goodwill. She picks me up stuff like this all the time.

So, thank you Mom, for all you do and all you have done. I can't wait to have a play day with just you and me! I am so blessed with all of the love that surrounds me.

XO, Mimi

This makes two in one day. Wow!

I hadn't posted much in the way of cards since the construction started on the studio so, I thought I'd try to make up for lost time. Here's a funny from Rubbernecker. I don't know why but I love the olive jar stamp. This is actually the first time it touched ink. Yeow! I've had it over a year! Enjoy! XO, Mimi

This makes me laugh!

I saw this card, while blurfing. I loved it and just felt the need to make a version on my own. Thank you to Julie for her A Muse-ing inspiration!

Have a fab Saturday! XO, Mimi

Open House pictures

Here are a couple pics my Mom took on Saturday, at the Open House.

The first one is me with my friends Maria and Debbie. Debbie is my and Maria's upline in Stampin' Up!

The second one is a shot of the "Wall of Cabinets" which house my stamps, ink, art, etc...

The third one is a couple guests who attended. This was the "Goodies" table. Yum! Thanks Mom!

The last one is a shot of a couple more guests, including Milissa from Serendipity Kits. I know it's not a great photo of her, sorry Milissa, but I had to add it. She was my "celebrity appearance". LOL!!!

Since these photos were taken, I have been hard at work. I have been filling the walls with and moving things around. I will post more pictures when I get more done.

Enjoy! XO, Mimi

Happy Monday! What a Weekend!

I am posting this from within The Paper Rose Studio. I brought my computer over this afternoon. I knew I wouldn't last long without it.

Well, the Open House went very well. I got to see a lot of faces that I have missed for a while now and some new faces. Everyone seemed quite "at home" in the new space. That is very important to me. Since I got quite a few requests, I will be planning classes soon. I am excited for my first "Ladies Night In".

Here are a few shots I took this morning. I didn't take any on Saturday since I was so busy mingling with my guests. No fear, my Mom snapped a few good ones though and as soon as I get them from her I will post them.

Have a fabulous day!! XO, Mimi

A Sneek Peek, then back to work!

I am sorry I have been away from the blog for a while but I have been working soooo hard on the finishing touches to the studio. I spent all of yesterday putting together the Ikea cabinets. My hands are so sore. Today, my Mom, dad and Katie's boyfriend are coming to help. The flooring goes in, flowers get planted, doors get hung and Mimi gets happy! Tee hee! As soon as the floors go in, everything should move super fast.

Everyone have a fabulous day! I will be working hard for the big reveal on Saturday. I hope to be able to post a video walkthrough. That should be lots of fun!

Welcome to The Paper Rose Studio!

After much thought and yes, a couple sleepless nights, I have decided on the name "The Paper Rose Studio".

I was seriously thinking about The Rubber Retreat, but a few of my friends were not sure if they liked that. "It almost sounds dirty" is what they said. And besides, it's more than just rubber, its about anything paper or crafty and the fact that my favorite color is pink, so, the paper rose was born.

A huge thanks to all of you who contributed your ideas. Some of them are really funny.

I am also going to change the name of my blog and hopefully update the look of my blog to reflect the look of my room. The address to my blog will remain the same but it will be a little different looking when you come to visit.

Today is painting day. I will have updated pictures for you later. XO, Mimi

Happy NSD!

I know I said I would pick a name for my new room today but my dear husband has decided to take us to Plant City for a softball game with Team USA. They are going to the Olympics! This is a big deal in our softball lovin' home. Tomorrow, he is taking us to Busch Gardens. So, our name pickin' will have to wait till Monday morning!

Until then, keep the ideas coming! XO, Mimi

Drywall and Drawers and Cards, oh my!

Hi all,

Here are some shots of what got done yesterday. The drywall got hung and after tape and mud, I should be able to paint by Tuesday or Wednesday. Now I have to decide on colors. Argh!

These are all of the drawers for my new storage units. I decided to start putting them together and pile them in the living room till I can put the cabinets together. That's 18 drawers! WOW!

Last, but not least, here are a couple cards I got done yesterday. The first one is a Father's Day card for my Father-in-law. The second is for the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast.

Well, I am off to get some more stuff put together. Have a great day! XO, Mimi
