ONLY THREE DAYS LEFT! OH MY!!

Did you realize that there are only 3 days left to order from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog? Wow! Time sure does fly! That also means that there are only 3 days left of Sale-A-Bration.

Many of us Stampin’ Up! junkies wait all year for Sale-A-Bration. For that wonderful time of year when we get something for free for every $50.00 purchase.

daffodils It is almost as eventful as the daffodils poking through ground to welcome another beautiful spring season. Well, OK, that’s going a bit too far. But it is eventful and it is almost over.

So, before it’s all over, contact me or click on the photo below to go to my website and place an order.

What did YOU do today?

Today was Family Fun Day at our softball fields so, I spent the day with some of the best kids I know! This was one of our fundraisers so I painted faces for the kids. I always have lots of fun with the kids when I am doing the face painting. They always come up with some different ideas than what I have samples of. This time I was prepared with my camera and got some shots of the original ones.

Ask, and you shall receive

The other day, I asked my Mother in law if she had a heavy duty sewing machine that I could use. I have been wanting to do some fun stuff with denim and don’t want to hurt my every day machine with the heavy duty work. Low and behold, this is what I got. It is awesome. It is a Singer 301 and just what I needed. IMG_4610 So, when I went to her house to pick up my new toy, I told her I had just bought a couple rolls of thread. Well, she was not happy to hear that and she took me to the sewing closet and had me go thru her thread where I found this. It’s jeans thread! While playing in the closet, she started pulling out these. They are bias tapes, trims, rick racks, and much more. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Look at all those goodies! Yummy!

Just in time for my new patterns that I picked up. Aren’t they darling? They are for my Nieces and nephew. They turn one in April and I want to make them some gifts of love from Aunt Mimi. Also, my Mom went to Goodwill last week and got me these beautiful sheets. I love floral sheets. I use them for the yardage to make tablecloths for the studio tables. 6 foot round tablecloths are hard to find and expensive and are never as pretty as these.

Well, that’s all I got for ya today. Gotta go get ready to work out. Thanks for stopping by! XO, Mimi

Mom and Me Workshop for March

 IMG_4600  IMG_4595 IMG_4596 IMG_4599

We had so much fun on Saturday with the Mom and Me workshop.

We made these great little Easter candy trees.

I love how each of the kids added their own unique style and some of them even let Mom help with the project! LOL!

I try to make the projects just a little too difficult for the kids to do on their own so they need Moms help. That way it is truly a team effort.

Next month we will focus on Mother’s Day. So, that’s gonna be a little tricky. Maybe I will be able to convince Dad to come just this once. Hmmm. Gonna have to work on that.

A Huge Success!

Sorry the pictures are so all over the place. I have not figured out how to work the Blogger posting photos.

Our Cards4Cancer Event was a huge success. We donated over 400 unique cards. Some were made on Sunday and some were dropped off and donated by people who couldn't stay and play but wanted to help cheer up some sick people.
If you were not able to come, and still want to help, we are still taking donations till the end of the month. So, do what I did, go through cards that you have already made and have sitting around collecting dust and donate them to a worthy cause.
Here are some pics from Sunday.

Cards 4 Cancer

Today is the big day at The Studio. We are making lots of Cards 4 Cancer to be sent to cancer patients. I hope the rainy weather dosn't keep anyone away.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I NEED your help!

I am hosting a Cards for Cancer event at my studio on Sunday, March 21st.
Yes, that is a week from today.
The event runs from 10 AM to 6 PM.
We will have food and beverages and my studio will be set up like a card making buffet.
You can come over any time during those hours and stay for as long or as little as you like and make as many cards as you can.
The cards will be sent to our team leader who will take them to a cancer treatment center to help cheer up some very deserving people.
I have lots of supplies that I am donating for the event.
It should be lots of fun and think of all of the people we will be cheering up.
If you are in the area of North Port, Fl and would like to come but don't know where the studio is, please email me and I will get back to you.
Please come and have fun with us and help people at the same time.
Thanks friends! XO, Mimi

It's about time!

I have decided that today is the day that I will learn how to use PSE6.
My DH purchased this wonderful program for me a couple years ago and I have pretty much fumbled around on it with very little success and very much frustration ever since.
I have several different digital scrapbooking programs.
Most important of them is Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio since I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
As soon as it came out, I had to get it, so I had it. But, have I used it?
Not so much.
Well, today is the day that I am going to start getting a grasp on all of this digital stuff.
In the course that I am taking, my homework is to share my first page.
So, here is my homework.
All of the elements are from the course that I am taking.
As soon as I gain my confidence, I will make pages with SU's MDS and I will post them.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my homework.

The view from the Top of Mt. Everest

I was just watching the photos on my screen saver and this one came across and I thought I should share it with my friends.
This photo was taken while at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
I was riding the Expedition Everest coaster.
My family won't do rides with me so, I have to go alone.
No problem. I make friends in line all of the time.
I usually wait for the front seat or back seat, depending on the ride and which is going to give the biggest thrill.
It is so worth it. Anyway, I had my camera around my neck, as I usually do when we are at a park, and I thought it would be cool to snap a picture during the pause at the top of the ride.
I think it turned out pretty cool.
This is a fun ride. The last picture is taken from a spectator's view as the riders swoosh by.
Not the best one but probably the best Disney one so far.
I take that back, the Aerosmith coaster is the best Disney coaster and this is second.
Still waiting to ride the Rip Rockin' Coaster at Universal.
It is always shut down when we go there.
Argh! So, I ride The Hulk. Which is an awesome coaster too. Oh well, thanks for stopping by.
More crafty stuff tomorrow.
XO, Mimi

Talk dirty to me

Dirty laundry, that is. LOL!
I love these stamps and the funny saying that come with them.
There are so many cute pictures and funny stuff like:
"Don't give me any Static!"
"Feelin' Dirty?"
"Wanna take a spin?"
"When I said "I Do" I didn't mean laundry..."
There are plenty more too.

Have a happy day! XO, Mimi

The Cutest Easter Card Ever!

I mean, really. Is this not the cutest bunny card?
No, I did not make it. I saw it HERE.
But, as soon as saw it, I set out to make my own.

Only, I wanted to cut mine out with the Cricut.
I used and egg shape from Doodle Charms for the
body and card and I made the feet and ears from two different ovals on Graphically Speaking.
I welded the ears to the body so they would cut as one piece.
The pink in the ears is the Stampin' Up! sm. oval punch.
The pink in the feet are SU's 3/4" circle punch and 1/4" circle punch.
The nose is from the SU Heart to Heart punch.
The eyes are SU's 1/4" circle punch in pink and black and highlighted with the white gel pen.

I just love it and cannot wait to send it to someone special!

Old Guys Rule

I found this paper and matching stickers at a LSS and had to have it for guy cards. I love the sayings that are one 'em. I think the old guys in my life will love the good humor in the cards and appreciate that I think they're cool!

Thanks for stopping by! XO, Mimi

Some cute cards and a funeral

Sorry for my absence. Just haven't been in the mood to blog for a while. No real reason, just lazy I guess.

I have been busy with my cards though.
Here are a couple of cards that I made recently.
I love the colors and embellishments.
I think they turned out so cute.
I have started making some cards without a stamped
or colored image on it so that I can add that when
I need the card. Then, when I color the stamped
image, I will know exactly what colors to use.

On a sadder note, we had a death in our family.
My daughter's hermit crab, Bob, has passed.
We had a little funeral and buried him in the back woods.
Mags cried and I said some words to guide him on his journey.
Mags also made him a lovely flower to mark his grave.

That's all for now. I hope to not be absent for so long this time.
Thank you for stopping by!
XO, Mimi
